Nigerian human rights activist and African Action Congress (ACC) former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore have raised concern over hikes in school fees and Terrorist terrorising the nation.
Omoyele Sowore who is known for his role in advocating for human rights, social justice, and political accountability in Nigeria has also highlighted the issue of academic institutions using exorbitant school fees as a means to bar economically disadvantaged individuals from accessing higher education.
On his official social media platform, formerly recognized as Twitter and now identified as X, he stated, “Terrorists and Bandits are sacking universities and kidnapping students, academic bandits are using schools fees to deprive the poor of higher education. #FeesMustFall #RevolutionNow”.
This outburst remark follows a series of events, including a terrorist attack on a hostel at Zamfara University resulting in the abduction of students, as well as the decision to raise school fees in higher education institutions, which subsequently sparked student protests.
Omoyele Sowore remains a prominent figure in Nigerian activism and continues to be involved in advocating for a more just and accountable political system in Nigeria.
