Israel Declared "State of War", Launched Operation "Iron Sword" to Protect Citizens from Palestinian Rockets

As Jewish communities in Israel come together to mark Simchat Torah and begin the annual cycle of reading the Torah portions each week, Israel finds itself grappling with the distressing reality of rocket attacks from Palestinian militants.

The militants launched over 5,000 rockets from the Gaza Strip, resulting in the tragic loss of lives and injuries among Israeli citizens.

The Israel Defense Forces have alerted the public to the ongoing threat and affirmed their readiness to protect and defend the nation.

A message from the Israel Defense Forces on Twitter states, “Israelis across the country—on Shabbat and the holiday of Simchat Torah—woke up to sirens sounding and Hamas firing rockets at them from Gaza this morning. We will defend ourselves”

In response to the continuous assault by Palestinian militants, Israel has initiated military action against Hamas in Gaza.

“In response to the barrages of rockets launched by Hamas from Gaza at Israel, the IDF is currently striking Hamas targets in Gaza” IDF stated.

In a prompt response to the assault, Israel has launched Operation Iron Sword to safeguard its citizens from Palestinian rocket attacks.

Israel Defense Forces stated that “The IDF is initiating a large-scale operation to defend Israeli civilians against the combined attack launched against Israel by Hamas this morning”

However, Israel has declared a “state of war.” Palestinian militants have been observed using motorcycles, paragliders, and SUVs to shoot and target civilians.
