Prince Olumuyiwa, the Public Relations Officer for the Abuja Command in Nigeria, has urged Nigerian bloggers and celebrities to refrain from exploiting the death of Mohbad to increase their followers or manipulate people for personal gain.
He emphasized the importance of awaiting the results of the investigation and cautioned that individuals making inflammatory remarks might be subject to summons by the Nigerian police.
Prince Olumuyiwa specifically aimed this message at Nigerian celebrities and bloggers who have been expressing support or favourable sentiments regarding Mohbad’s passing.
He conveyed this information through his X handle, formerly recognized as Twitter, where he wrote, “I have warned the so-called bloggers and celebs 5o allow us to do our work. They should not use Mohbad’s death to cruise or mobilize followers. They need to wait for the outcome of the investigation. Anyone who makes comments (affirmatively) on the issue might be invited by the police or any security agency to corroborate or testify in the case. You’d better be careful and allow the law to take its course. The law is wide and complex and could, at the same time, be flexible. Be warned.
